Nuevo Vallarta is a planned resort town on Mexico’s Pacific coast, just north of Puerto Vallarta. It sits on Banderas Bay, and is known for its golf courses, marina and long, sandy beach. A short distance off the coast, the biodiverse Marieta Islands are home to wildlife, including dolphins, turtles and humpback whales. Northwest is the laid-back village of Sayulita, which is known for surfing.
