Vail, Colorado, is a small town at the base of Vail Mountain, home of the massive Vail Ski Resort. Set within White River National Forest, the town is a playground for winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding. It’s also a summertime destination for golfing, hiking and cultural festivals. Gore Creek, popular for fly fishing, runs directly through the town center. Avon is the gateway to the Beaver Creek Resort, which lies about two miles south of the town. Beaver Creek is a mountain village in Colorado. It’s home to Beaver Creek Resort, with ski runs, terrain parks and cross-country routes. In summer, flower-dotted Beaver Creek Mountain has a hiking center. The Vilar Performing Arts Center Beaver Creek presents theater, concerts and comedy. The Children’s Museum at Beaver Creek offers play-based exhibits, while the Beaver Creek Children’s Theatre has shows nearby.
